I was introduced to Shawn and Erika Bryan by a mutual friend in Washington DC earlier this year, and was later invited to visit their fully functioning MOSH-1 prototype system on a lot in downtown DC. The value of this concept in an emergency/contingency operations context was immediately apparent to me as a retired USAF Lieutenant General. Up and running in minutes, the MOSH-1 prototype was able to provide basic communication and comfort needs in a fully climate-controlled environment immediately. As currently configured, the MOSH-1 prototype is well suited to serve as a life-saving “cooling station” in large outdoor Summer events.
MOSH-1 ARCTIC units are cooling centres that optimise athletic training during times of excessive heat.
Part of the proceeds of all ARCTIC unit sales to athletic programs will go to the Jordan McNair Foundation. Jordan was a division-1 college football player at the University of Maryland who died from heat related injuries sustained during practice in 2018.
